I lived in Cedar City for four years while in college and only went to Hermies two months before I graduated. Regrets, man. This place taught me what American food is about. It's cemented in my memory as the perfect example. I doubt it's healthy, but that's not the point. The environment is nostalgic. At only 25 I eat here and think sentimental thoughts about my childhood, and I don't mean that in the I-need-a-therapist sense. I just mean the food is so good that it makes me want to own a gun or vote republican or something.

Great service, friendly staff. Small town feel, which was awesome. I got a quarter pound bacon cheeseburger - it was classic utah style- fry sauce on the burger. The fries were amazing, some of the best I've ever had anywhere. And they hand made a cherry coke. Highly recommend Hermies.

Con's: Rude service! Did not greet us upon arriving. Greeted the people behind us but not us. I was polite with everything, saying "thank you" and they don't even respond with "you're welcome" or anything else. People up here are not raised with respect. The servers were Tori & Christiana. Pros: Food is amazing! Burgers are great and so are the specialties! If it wasn't for the service, I would rate it higher.

Traveling from Glendale, AZ to Salt Lake City, UT leaves a lot of time on the open road to look up places in towns you may have never heard of until that point in time. I kinda wish I hadn't heard of this one. We stopped in and had burgers, fries and sodas. Look, either you get what they specialize in or you buy a bag of lettuce somewhere else and eat that. Don't cry to me because you regret not having the fries. The fries and fry sauce was really tasty. Everyone at Hermie's from the moment we walked in was happy and a pleasure to deal with. Like I said, we each had a cheese burger, fries and soda, all in all pretty basic fare. It all tasted quite good and had I reviewed at that point, it would have been a higher star review. Later that day and into the night, both of us felt ill. I was worse and while I can't call it food poisoning, it was just a step away from it. In retrospect, had I not been exhausted from the drive I would have called them to give them a heads up. While I'm sure it was just a fluke and we just happened to get lucky, I would rather post this hoping the management would see it. We dined on 5/19 about noon.

Total burger yumminess!! Huge, multi layered, artery clogging goodness. Falling off the carb free wagon has never tasted so good. Prices are awesome for how much food you get. Fries were crispy yet soft inside, just the way I like them.

I don't get the low reviews, we have been to Hermie's over and over since we moved to CC in July 2014. Can you say fry bread? ohhh yeah and that honey butter with it. Yum. I have tried the Navajo Taco, taquitos, corn dogs, sweet potato fries, and my mom even had a cup o' chili (that gal loves a cup of chili, it seems so funny to me, but dipping that fry bread in it was pretty durn good). It's a good down-home local spot, with a little bit of quirky character. I haven't had the rude service as mentioned, so maybe that was just a bad day for the person behind the counter. We all have them...... anyway, my fav is the burgers and fries, and the good ol' shake.

The burgers are terrible. The regular burger is smaller than McDonald's kids meal burger.

Hermies Drive in is now under NEW OWNERSHIP and has been since 04/01/12. The reviews before that date do not apply to the new owner.

Best Burger in Utah!!! We drove 3 hours from Las Vegas just to come here!! The Hermie burger is so classic, perfection The fry sauce is the best in the state here, in my opinion. And the fries are superb!! This is a must stop if you're in the area, trust me you won't regret it!!!

I am hooked their chicken tacos and their fish n chips. I love the fact they have Coke and Pepsi on tap.

Food is amazing. They use fresh meats delivered from local meat businesses. It doesn't get any fresher than that. Everything is made from scratch and tastes amazing. If you want to cure a hangover, grab the Hermie Burger and some deep fried mushrooms. I think most people expect the pre-cooked, sitting in a hot pan hamburger meat speed that fast food joints force on us, but this is made to order food. Well worth the wait. Even the french fries are made to order. Food quality is amazing, and everything is fresh and flavourful. There is definitely a reason this is a local hot spot for old fashioned burgers and shakes. The menu has something for everyone. The chicken tacos are my go to.

My husband and I make an effort to go to Hermies at least once a week to eat their hermie burger. Quality beef and best sweet potato fries in the area. We have a very specific customized order and that staff always gets it right. Hermies is definitely the best place in Cedar to grab a quality burger.

Small mom and pop type hamburger joint. Food is great. I love the strawberry shake and the mozzarella sticks are the best. Friendly people also.

English Chips, truly awesome. How come I've never heard of these things before. I had the Hermie's burger, which was truly a heart stopper. I don't know how to make this thing even more greasy, but man was it delicious. Definitely not a place to come to if you're on a diet.

Making my way into to southern Utah, we decided to stop in Cedar City for some dinner. We drove down the main drag passing all the chain restaurants. And we came across this place. And it was definitely worth the stop. The staff was helpful on what was best. And what I was excited about was they had English chips. Everything was cooked perfect and it came out the perfect temperature. I will be back for sure some time.

Apparently, if you work for the Cedar City Police Department, Hermies is the place to eat. We counted four police vehicles in the parking lot as we left. I'm not sure why. In addition, it's also the place to get a "Hermie," which, as was described to me, involves three patties of beef, ham, bacon...ok, I stopped her in the description right there. There was no way I was putting that down my gullet. At least not until I had run a marathon first. I did manage to swallow an "Old Fashioned Burger" and fries. The burger involved a slice of ham cum pastrami...I wasn't sure which it was, and was substantially smaller than how I envisioned the mammoth meal that "The Hermie" would be. Smaller, but that's a relative term. I still felt like I was forcing myself to finish it. And not necessarily with satisfaction. As a burger, it was average. The pattie tasted like it had been frozen before it hit the griddle, and it had that pre-formed flavor that seems to come in the big boxes of burgers you can buy at Costco or any grocery store. Not impressive, but not necessarily a loss, either. The toppings didn't help: they tasted synthetic and average. And the fries? After the treat Pioneer Restaurant had been just a day before, I couldn't handle the limp and lack luster, sliced potatoes that they served us. Maybe we got a bad batch, but I'll never know. I won't be going back.

Extremely slow, slightly overpriced, yet a very good burger!

I've only eaten here a few times, but it's always been pretty good. The food is inexpensive and tasty, the wait time is short, and the restaurant itself is kind of quirky and fun. I'll have to eat here more for a more firm rating, but for now I give it a four because the one sandwich I ate (a veggie hoagie) was delicious. I'll be going back soon, I promise.

This place is one of those small town, local, serve everything place. They are very cheap and the food is always cooked to order. That's good because it's fresh and bad because it takes 10 to 15 minutes. I'd recommend it.

On those evenings when we are not in the mood to cook or we are out running errands and the question comes up "What do you want to eat?" our standing family answer is a Hermie Burger and we live 400 miles away. When we dream of the perfect fast food meal, Hermies is it. When I talk to people near where we live who have lived in Cedar or pass thru, we all drool when someone mentions Hermies. We are on our way to Cedar right now and our first stop will be the drive thru. As we have aged, we can no longer eat a whole burger but they are happy to take out the middle breads and it becomes the size of a normal large fast food burger. The fry sauce is awesome (especially because we live where they have no idea what fry sauce is, let alone good fry sauce). My daughter loves their shakes and a good fresh lime can never be beat. The kids are always super nice that work there and we don't even mind when we have to wait in the drive thru. We have tried other foods there (their Navaho taco was very good but WAY too big for one person, so we shared it) but we always go back for the Hermie burger. Hermies has ruined our family for other fast food. No one can compare!

Wow... avoid this place if possible. I've been twice now. The first time was decent, but the second time they put some bacon on my burger that was 95% FAT! I could not believe it when I bit into it and pulled it out because I couldn't bite through it. Disgusting!!!
